Day 10. I'm on paracetamol and ibuprofen still. I thihk that's all that's recommend if you are BF. If you are formula feeding you may be able to get something stronger prescribed.
Did the hospital not send you home with pain meds?
I got sent home with a week supply of dihydrocodine I’m surprised they didn’t send you home with anything xx
@Shaunie that’s my exact thoughts. They sent me home with dihydrocodine, ibuprofen, liquid laxative, and blood thinning injections First 3 days i was in the hospital so they gave it to me, by day 4 i was no longer in pain but didnt realise until day 5 so i stopped taking them
I was sent home with just paracetamol and ibuprofen. I was surprised too but actually I haven’t needed more. They can do stronger if you ask. Dihydrocodeine can be in breast milk if used for extended periods x
I was sent home with oramorph with all my sections, I didn’t need it but was to have for just in case they said x
Mines today and my community midwife advised me not to leave the hospital without either codeine (if you your not breastfeeding) or dihydracodeine if you are just incase you need it! I do have some codeine already in the house as a back up 😂 xx
I take paracetamol, ibuprofen and dihydrocodene But to be honest I felt none of it touched the sides and over a week later and still feel pain. Mobility has improved but discomfort is still there
I was prescribed co codamol but it gave me bad constipation x
Dihydracodeine. Nothing else helped. Get it subscribed x
@Leah aww sending lots of good vibes on this exciting day❤️
I had paracetamol and diclofenac - go steady if taking Co-codamol , highly addictive and can cause constipation which wouldn’t be nice after C-Section!
I’m only taking paracetamol as I cannot take more than that.. midwife offered me oramorph and health visitor told me if I need something else to call 111 or triage to ask for more .. I think I’ll be okay with just paracetamol though as I’m 4 days in and managed to go shopping…
@Melisa most of the time they don’t

They’ve sent me home with oramorph instead of codeine which I was very suprised at
I only used ibuprofen. I have a decent threshold though. I was on pain killers for 4-5 days after. I was too tired and dark to take them at home for long. They sent Tylenol 3 but I used that when I had tooth pain and got my IUD. Not for c-section pain.
I’m only on day 1 but best over counter painkiller for me is paramol x
