I’m booked for this Monday as a vbac attempt at 38+5. Not holding out much hope
I'm on day 3 now in hospital and I haven't had my waters broke yet but that's because of staffing issues 😭 the rods were fine and effective. They put them in at 2oclock yesterday and left them for 12 hours, took them out at 2am and I'm dilated enough for w fingers and they can break my waters but not enough staff to start my contractions off so they wont break them yet🤦♀️
I had dilapan put in for 16 hours luckily they had a bed on the labour suite so was able to examine and break my waters at 2cm. Then there was a slight wait to see if my body would contract its self it did till 8cm. Hormone drip was used however, baby wasn’t happy with it so I came off it and contractions came quicker and faster afterwards. Good luck
Hi, @Joanne, thanks for the update :) Are you having any contractions yet? Do you have any discomfort?
Hey, @Shauna Baxter, sounds like your induction was effective, nice one! How did it go overall? Would you recommend using dilapan? Did it cause you any discomfort at all? Did you have your baby yet 😊😊
Overall went well few cramps from the dilapan but glad I went for the no hormonal option this time around- went for the pessary last time with my daughter just seemed a longer process. I guess it’s how your body reacts. Slight discomfort when they put them in and took them out I had 5 altogether
Again my body/baby didn’t agree with the hormonal drip so wasn’t used for long my body was able to produce the hormones for labour it’s self
Good luck x
@Shauna Baxter, thanks! Xx
I had no contractions as such just what felt like period pains every so often but I was in a bit of discomfort anyway after my cervical exam, I found putting the actual rods in the much easier part 😅 they came to take them out 12 hours later and all my mucus plug came away with them so they definitely helped. They put up to 5 in so don't be surprised because I was just expecting 1 haha. Can't feel them when they're in or anything, my induction is being a nightmare due to staff issues but as long as they aren't under staffed they can break your waters as soon as they take them out and make sure you've dilated x
@Alexandra me too booked for Monday but I'm praying he comes before then!
I had dilapan for a day and I only dilated 2 cm when they checked me next day, and then midwife broke my water then i was walking, bouncing tried to do everything hoping for more dilation but then they put me on drip and offered me epidural so i took it and thats when things went wrong, ended up in C section. I hope the best for you😊
