I used stepping hill after being convinced not use to wythenshawe as 'they're all the same really' when I tell you never again, I mean never again. Wish I'd of gone with my gut and used wythenshawe. I don't even use stepping hill a&e for little one, straight to wythenshawe instead as they're just so much better.
I have birth at north Manchester in Feb. First baby so nothing to compare it to, but we had a really positive experience x
Never heard a good review about stepping hill so I’d avoid - the maternity team in wythenshaw are so nice!!
Also heard a lot of bad about Bolton so try and avoid there.
Wythenshawe St marys - I had my baby 8 days ago and honestly they were AMAZING. I can't fault them at all I really can't. My experience was so beautiful and I'll always be thankful for the memories I now have 🥰
@Chloe are wythenshaw actually better ? I had my last at stepping hill and I had an amazing birth and they was all so lovely, they did leave me for a good few hours after I had her tho and I had no idea what I was doing 😂 xxxx
I was at st Marys on Oxford road and I haven’t got a bad word to say about my experience there even though it was bad what was up with me after my birth they were amazing!
I had my daughter at wythenshawe and had the most amazing experience. The nurses were so encouraging and patient with me. I had 5 midwives looking after me, each one was wonderful. They are very good at keeping you calm and distracted from the pain. I wanted a water birth so I was in the birthing suits, they were really calming and well kept rooms. I felt so comfortable in there. I did have to stay over night as my daughter wasn’t feeding but I had lots of help and support from the nurses
@Megan it was absolute shambles for me at stepping hill! I had an elective section and they knew I was extremely anemic and kept pushing back my iron transfusion. I was meant to have 2 with my last being two weeks before the section. I had my first 6 days before and nearly bled to death on the operating table because of it!xxx
I had my daughter (now 8 weeks old) at Wythenshawe, I had a birthing centre room and they are very well kept and nothing is too much, the midwives are attentive, I also had a student midwife who was great (my daughter was only her 9th birth) I was in for a long time as I had an extremely long labour. In the end I had to be rushed to the delivery suite as I needed assistance in the final stages to get her out, but again they were great and everyone listened to me and my husband who was advocating for me.
@Chloe omg no way that’s awful!! Xxx
I was at st Mary's oxford road and was a disgrace. They didn't even have a record of him being born when I went to register him alongside multiple other failings, avoid at all costs
Personally have never heard anything good about St Mary's Oxford Road. I had my first 2 in Wythenshawe and was amazing after both emergency and planned c section. I will be having my 3rd in next 3-4 weeks again at Wythenshawe with a planned c section. So far the care has been great only issue I have encountered is mental health midwives as first one I was working with changed roles then the next person allocated has either not been in contact, cancelled each appointment made now currently been off sick for last few weeks, my mental health has took a turn for the worst but the other midwife I occasionally see regarding it has been absolutely amazing trying to make alternate arrangements for everything xx
Everyone has different experiences, I had my babe at Stepping Hill via Emergency Section (my waters went with a footling breech at 36 weeks) & I have never felt so looked after and safe throughout. Stepping hill also let partners stay overnight and visit whenever throughout whole admission. I would suggest doing your own research and ring and ask for a tour of the ward ❤️ Good Luck

I had my son at Tameside and had a positive experience however I went to Oldham when I was 23 weeks because of threatened pre term labour and their facilities looked so much better and updated
I had my little girl at Wythenshawe and they were fantastic! My birth was fairly traumatic towards the end but they kept me so calm and acted so quickly, I could never thank them enough❤️
Hey I’ve had all mine at nmgh and every time was a lovely experience even when things didn’t go to plan they were very supportive. I was in the birthing centre each time and hoping to go there again with baby number 4.
