Hey, it is possible I’m afraid. I had a healthy scan at 6 weeks and 3 days, told friends and family because we saw a strong heartbeat. To find out at my 12 week scan baby stopped developing at almost 9 weeks. No signs of a miscarriage either ❤️ Try not to worry or panic xx
Oh god this is terrifying 😬😢 xx
It sadly can but it is very uncommon, but obviously devastating for those it happens to. I think after seeing a heartbeat at 6 weeks the chance of miscarriage reduces to 10%, after seeing it at 7 weeks it drops to 4%, 8 weeks 1.5% and 9 weeks 0.9% from statistics I’ve read. It’s so scary and one of my biggest fears as have seen so many stories on here. But we have to remember there are so many many people on here that we will see those 10%/4%/1% examples etc. xxx
It’s easy to see posts on here and think that it’s happening to everyone. It’s not! I found that this helped me - checking each day to see the chances everything being okay increasing! https://datayze.com/miscarriage-chart#google_vignette I know it’s not easy but try and relax - miscarriage is the exception, not the rule. Most occur very early. Once you’ve seen a heartbeat chances are everything will be progressing as it should
For the people this happened to- did you continue to have symptoms?
@Tara I had very few symptoms anyways but the symptoms I did have stayed, like sore boobs and tiredness x
@Em this is really reassuring thanks for sharing 💜
Thanks everyone, it’s a bit more reassuring to read the stats xx
I went to see a private obstetrician during my 3rd pregnancy (with my little boy) after losing two babies prior. We saw a heartbeat at 7 weeks ❤️ and she told me that we had 95% chance of a successful pregnancy. So although it can happen, it’s a lot less likely than losing a baby prior to seeing a heartbeat at an earlier stage. The stats above say the same thing I just wanted to comment from my personal perspective as I know what it’s like to be wracked with worry ❤️🌈
It is possible unfortunately. I had this with my last pregnancy. Scan at 7 weeks was good. Then at 10 weeks found out baby stopped growing at 8 weeks and I’d just had no signs of it. Not sure how common it is but I hope baby is growing and everything is okay for you. Try not to worry too much and book in an extra scan if you need some reassurance. ♥️🤞🏼
