Rib and back pain - seat cushions

Hi all! I am almost 26 weeks. I started experiencing pressure and pain in my rib cage under my left breast which creates a lighting-like pain to my left back area. Today it’s especially painful. Some days it isn’t as bad. It occurs at night in bed and during the day at work. No matter what side I lay on, it hurts the same way. I have a desk job. Does anyone have a similar pain and is using a cushion for their chair that helps? I’m not sure if I need a desk chair butt cushion, a desk chair back cushion, a standing desk and/or belly band?! I’m all over the place.

Hey Im also 26 weeks pregnant and im experiencing the exact same pain as your self . I find using lumbar support helps me out a bit. Are you using a pregnancy pillow?

@MelissaBent so I have two. The one that’s kind of a wedge and it’s small. I also have that huge c shaped snuggle pillow. I don’t use the wedge, should I? Last night was weird. The pain on my left side wouldn’t go away no matter if I laid on my right side or stomach. Andddd I took Tylenol last night. It was awful. Which pregnant pillow do you use to help prevent that rib pain?

I'd totaly try the wedge and see if it works. I use the Leachco All Nighter Chic Total Body Pregnancy Pillow. It's a candy cane designed pillow that conforms to the shape of your entire body from head to toe! The two unique shapes of the All Nighter Chic work together for all-over comfort and support. The shorter bell-shaped section is ideal for upper body support and tummy tucking. The longer section can support shoulders, back, hips, legs, knees, and feet or elevate upper body and head, depending on your position. Also contains a comfort curve neck panel for added comfort to neck and shoulders. Keeps arms and hips in a neutral position and back fully aligned. A must-have for all stages of pregnancy. Perfect for persistent back and neck pain.

Your belly my be pulling on your ribs and back while laying on your side with no belly suppot.

I had similar pains in pregnancy and I swapped out my desk chair for an exercise ball and that helped immensely!

@MelissaBent I never thought about it that way! I just didn’t love the pillows because I toss and turn a lot.

@Robin this sounds kind of fun actually!
