Breastfeeding

Anyone else have difficulty breastfeeding after a c section? I’m on day 10 and I’ve only been producing colostrum and some milk (anywhere from like 5ml to 20ml). I want to throw in the towel so bad but don’t want to feed her formula 😭

Heya, may I ask how you're getting colostrum and also some milk as you should be producing transitional milk now - which if you are it's a really good sign! It means your milk is coming in.

Try to not worry girly! Your body knows what its doing. Yes it is not easy at times, but believe me it is 100% worth it. Baby eats very small amounts at first, and your body will adjust accordingly. If you want your body to push to make more just latch baby on more frequently, the more baby is eating from you the more your body will make. Even if baby if just suckling it will stimulate your breast. Keep up the good work mama! You are doing great!

Try not to brag but I am in pain and hate it actually. I had an emergency c section September 1st and right after my son was born they told me to pump every 2 hours. If you are worried about your supplies do that trust me you’ll be in my spot. It sucks my boobs hurt and I get a lot of colostrum but being en gorged really sucks. I am actually about to talk to a lactation consultant tomorrow to see what I can do to stop my engorged boobs if possible. What I ate was a lot of oatmeal and coconut water beside drinking just water.
