Venting

Since my baby was born 3 weeks ago, my mil hadn’t stopped with her insensitive comments and just trying to take over as if she’s the mum to my baby. There’s been situations when she would wait for me to go to the toilet and she would come in at 4am barging into the room and shouting at my husband asking if the baby is awake I come into the room and asked her why is she in our room she’s like to see if he’s awake I said no he’s asleep and to get out as this is a couples bedroom. Few days later I’m getting changed (didn’t bother locking my room door as I thought I don’t need too) boy was I wrong, half naked, and she tries barging in as my son was crying I shouted at her saying to gtfo of my room and to knock before barging in like the way she did! There’s literally NO privacy at all. There’s been times when she would try putting me down and telling me my milk supply isn’t good enough and that I need to formula feed my child, other comments she makes is stuff like you need to go out for fresh air, I’ll look after the baby and it’s like how are you meant to look after him when im the milk supply. It’s like she just wants to give him formula so she can do the feeding. She doesn’t even let me bathe my own child she takes over EVERYTHING and says oh you can’t do it you won’t be able to. Every time he cries she’s like oh he’s hungry give him formula yojr milk isn’t enough, and it’s like NO HES NOT HUNGRY! He wants his mother! Whilst I’m in the middle of BFING him, she tries snatching him from me and won’t let him finish his meal, or when he’s asleep she wakes him up and then complains he’s hungry, and it’s like he wouldn’t of been hungry if you hadn’t woke him up from his nap! I’m so fed up of her crap

I’m sorry you’re mil is overbearing right now. Is there any chance of communication between the two of you or does it go in one ear and out the other?

A proper chat is needed before it escalates really bad.

WHAT the actual 🤬??? Does she live with y’all? What does your husband say about it? I would have absolutely lost my 💩 by now. There is no way I’d let that fly in MY house with MY baby, postpartum. Normally I say some reasonable stuff but with this.. I say let her have it! That’s insane.
