Does anyone else see videos like this and wonder where have we gone wrong?

https://youtube.com/shorts/lg83X6sUCQk?si=5A-al3eGIW23DWNi For context, I had a surprise NICU baby where after a 36 hour labor I had 8 hours to recover (with my baby taken after holding him for only a literal minute and en route to another city) before moving to sharing a hospital bench with my husband in order to not leave our sick baby alone in the understaffed hospital. We were luckily only there for a week, but we were constantly told by doctors and nurses that they were "bending rules" to give even the simplest notes of compassion for simply wanting to be with our sick child. Ronald McDonald House was truly the light in this, they gave us a room within a day close to the hospital to rest without charge. But how sad is it that it's become the American birth experience to have literally McDonald's come through for us as new parents more than the entire American Medical System? I just look at what other countries are doing and feel completely lost.

They are not free, they have to pay thousands of dollars for that kind of service. They also have postpartum clinics in the United States but most people just don't want to pay for that.
