Posting to Cheltenham

Hi ladies, My husband has been promoted and he’s been informed he has got his first preference on where he wants to work next which is in Cheltenham. We’re currently waiting to hear when we will be moving which is exciting but also nerve wracking for me as I’m currently 22 weeks pregnant. (Really hoping we end up getting posted after our baby is born!🤞🏼) Due to us moving to a new place with a new baby I was wondering if there’s any other mums that are currently living here and if there’s any nice baby groups nearby that they recommend? I always struggle when we move to a new place as I literally know nobody and I worry it’ll feel quite isolating with a newborn too with us living so far away from family & friends. Also, what is the military housing like there? / how have you found the area to be? The likeliness that anyone is currently living there on this page might be pretty slim but I thought it would be worth a shot to ask! 😊 Thank you!🩷✨

Hello! Congratulations to your husband on his promotion and first choice posting! We are in South Cerney, so not a million miles from Cheltenham. We moved here when I was 20 weeks pregnant - I also knew nobody! I now have a 3 month old and we are super lucky there’s loads of mum and baby groups around here! A few that I know run in Chelt are The Mum Club Cotswolds (brunches and coffee mornings in Cirencester and Cheltenham), Blazetrails Cotswolds (mum and baby walking group), Baby sensory Cheltenham and Ciren. I’m sure there will be loads more in Cheltenham! Drop me a message if you want to chat ☺️

@Alex Thank you!! We’re super happy about moving to a new place but it’s also quite daunting at the same time, especially with a baby on the way and being so far from family and friends. Ah this comment is so helpful, thank you so much!! I’m definitely wanting to try and get myself into some mum and baby groups as I struggle quite a bit with my mental health so I think it will really help me getting out and being social 🩷 again, thank you so much for commenting what groups there are! Xx
