I had this for my 9 week scan and it wasn’t sore at all don’t worry 💓
I’m having one in a few weeks and the lady said to me on the phone it’s no deeper than a tampon and no wider than your thumb. Also very nervous. As awful as it is I haven’t had a spear and no professional like a doctor or a nursery has ever looked down there 👀
I had one yesterday and was nervous but it was totally fine and really professional- don’t worry! I was glad I wore a dress though as could easily cover myself to get on and off the bed
thank you everyone! 💗💗💗
I’ve just had mine today and it was that bad. A bit awkward but once you see baby on the screen that’s all you think about x
It’s not scary at all I had one done for non pregnancy reasons and it’s just like a very thin dildo. So if you had a normal pp in you it probably feels bigger than the machine they use. They use a lot of lube as well so it’s not sore don’t worry !
Hey, I'm having mine on 5th too! I'm in Colchester so not far from you x
@Neave where are you getting yours done?! so nice to have someone from colchester!
Hey I've just had one done! It doesn't hurt, it's just uncomfortable, a bit like having a smear test, if they push it a certain way it does feel a bit like a period cramp. They make you rest your feet together and legs bent apart with the cloth over you. If you feel pain or want them to stop, just say and they do immediately
It don’t hurt one but if anything it feels uncomfortable
IVF mama here 👋🏻 Had hundreds! 😂 The ones I had during IVF were uncomfortable - sometimes during a period and mostly when my ovaries were the size of tennis balls! They specifically point the wand at your ovaries on a funny angle as well, so they weren’t nice at all. But they weren’t painful! Just uncomfortable. The ones I’ve had whilst pregnant however are tooootally different. They don’t need to angle the wand at all and nothing is swollen down there during pregnancy (usually) so to me that just felt like inserting a tampon.
Hi, I’ve been going through monitored cycles with Letrozole which means having trans vaginal scans every cycle. They were really uncomfortable at first, especially when trying to find my elusive left ovary and bumping my cervix (!) although after that I started taking 2 paracetamol before my scans and were then fine. It becomes second nature in the end.
Hey! I had one done 2 weeks ago, it was absolutely fine, less invasive than a smear test, only goes in about 2/3 inches I would say! Not sore in the slightest x
