Will I be considered high risk in my next pregnancy?
I know it may sound silly but I’m wondering will my next pregnancy be classed as high risk, as my first pregnancy I had gestational diabetes, gestational hypertension, an unexplained antepartum haemorrhage at 37+5 & a postpartum haemorrhage (lost 1.1L during Vaginal Birth).
I’m really wanting 2 under 2 but don’t know if given how my first pregnancy went, if I’m better to try & wait longer? If having these things worsen my odds next time around, making it harder to care for a toddler while pregnant. Does anyone have experience with it? How’d you find it?
Waiting wouldn't really.make a difference to be honest. You will be considered high risk whether you have 2 under 1 or wait for 10 years. You'll be offered either glucose tolerance test or home monitoring at 16 weeks and again at 24 to 28 weeks. You'll also be advised to take aspirin to prevent pre-eclampsia and increased blood pressure monitoring. If you had pre-eclampsia last time you'd be offered an extra scan at 23 weeks too. Because of the PPH we'd normally recommend having a cannula in during labour and a hormone drip for 4 hours afterwards to keep the uterus well contracted and prevent another pph. But waiting longer won't change any of that. Xxx
