What do you do if your baby isn’t having their solids at all?! 🙁

For the past two days, my LO hasn’t been wanting his solids at all. I feed him and not BLW and he just completely refuses it. So literally takes a few spoonful- I’m talking about like max 5 and then I have to stop because he gets really fussy. Does your little one do this too, and what do you do in this situation? - do you sit there for long time to try make sure they finish the food or just stop? Would really appreciate some advice x

If they're outright refusing and getting upset I'd let them down and try again next meal time. If hungry but still not wanting solids, I'd up their milk intake to accommodate It's normal for them to go through stages and refusals, teething, leaps etc all can impact it xx

My little boy has been like this so I’ve been letting him feed himself which he’s been enjoying then when he’s doing it I can feed him spoonfuls inbetween. Think he gets bored sitting there waiting for me to feed him x

I do the same as Gemma above. She hates BLW to begin with and now kicks off so I just give her a spoon & some food on a tray to play with and feed her too x

Offering him the opportunity to feed himself or play with the food might help but if baby is refusing food or showing he doesn't want any more/getting fussy I would stop. My little one went off solids for over a week while he was teething and unwell recently, it's normal. Keeping them sat there and trying to keep feeding can be stressful and might make it harder to get him back to enjoying food

Mine does this when he’s teething. My health visitor said to not worry and just try to give him as much milk as he wants

I found my little girl was refusing her food, and it was because I was giving milk beforehand but it was too soon for her meal, now I wait at least an hour between milk and food and she will eat!
