You don’t have to have it. Birth rights! You can try to natural labor first unless absolutely medically necessary. Is it too late to change Ob for you?
@Kalyn im looking for somebody else now! N dat what I was telling my momma that I’m going to refuse if it’s not absolutely necessary
Well I’m praying you find a better fit but don’t let them force you into that without a reason, however, if you do have one just know you have rights during that as well
It costs more when you have a C-section that’s why.
@Lakita I figured that
@Kalyn n yea I’m suppose to meet with the lady that’s go do the c-section dis week ! So ima see if I can get a better answer. Cus I’m healthy n so is the baby I’m confused af
It's really strange that they are telling you this so late in your pregnancy. I elected to have a c section last year and again this year. My Drs were very happy with that choice because it's planned and there's less risk involved. No one pushed me into it though.
@Lakita good point
If the baby isn't breach or no health problems I don't understand why they want to cut you.
@Brianna I feel like she overwhelmed n have to many patients! I’m pretty sure I should b going to the doctor weekly by now 🤨 she told me come back 2weeks after I have the baby
C-section cost more $ than vaginal delivery. A lot of hospital schedule c-sections when it’s not necessary. Unless the baby is breached, too big or you’re considered high risk then yeah there is no need for it and it’s questionable. Definitely push back…ask for reasons.
tbh this is weird and lowkey concerning. i’m having a c section, not technically elective because i have a pretty rare immune disorder and the drs don’t fr know shit about it compared to most things so they are letting me decide. however at my last appt they went over the risks/benefits of vaginal vs c section and i felt like i was being pressured to have vaginal because it’s overall safer, easier recovery, etc. just like you should, i stuck to my guns and feel much more confident/safe in my personal decision to have a c section so we have it scheduled now — but very, very weird they would try and make you have one without any medical reasoning. super concerning that they said “well if u wanna have a baby around here we do c section” …i’d honestly go to a higher up and report/ask about this—-or even better find a new OB ASAPPPP if possible. if you and baby are healthy then the cons outweigh the “pros” of a c section by farrr and atp they are doing it for personal gain, not out of 1/2
2/2 doing what’s best for you, your baby, and your delivery. this actually concerns me and irritates me a lot tbh. i cannot believe they said that to you!!! stand up and fight for your rights and YOUR preferences. don’t be “shamed”, pressured, or bullied into changing your birth plan, especially without good medical reasoning behind it
Don’t do it If there is no reason to I’d report them

Doctors get paid alot more for c sections than vaginal births, certain states and hospitals have alot higher rates of c sections because of that. It's also more convenient for them because they just schedule it on their own time. If there is no medical reason to get a c section they can't force you and you should deffinately ask for a second opinion or change hospitals. Make sure than when you do go into labor you have a written birth plan that you give everyone copies so they can't preasure you into doing anything that you don't want to do.
Less risk involved , more money for hospital and possible extra 2 week maternity leave lol
