Lips!

Hi, has anyone had similar looking ultrasounds where baby’s lips look absolutely huge? I’m 36+4, baby measuring 97th centile. Sonographers had a giggle because baby always pouting in scans but I’m worried these look abnormally big. Not much I can do either but just looking for a bit of reassurance that the scan can exaggerate as they just seem huge!!

My little ones lips always look like he’s pouting as well! My partner always comments on it. I’m wondering if it’s just the angle of the scanner or shadows maybe x

@Laura yeah I think it could be just that. And I know they practice sucking etc in utero so maybe always just seeing them at this angle when they’re chomping on something tasty haha! I’ve had a 4D scan about week 30 and they were totally fine but every scan since (getting growth scans because baby is growing toooo well!) I’ve had a lil Homer Simpson baby profile on the print outs 🤣 getting impatient now. I just want to meet my pouty baby!

My baby looked like she was pouting on the 4d private scan but not on the ultrasound but I've not really seen babies fave like this on the regular ultrasound since about 20 weeks so maybe it is just the angle/ the sucking motion because they aren't exactly high res images! And there very big on the growth scans now so you cant see everything at once! 😅
