Implantation hyperglycemia help!

Hi guys, I am a fairly well controlled diabetic. My A1C has consecutively been around the 5.4-5.6 range for the last 2 years. So, when I have highs/lows, I’m very critical of myself. And I know something is up! Has anyone had experience with implantation hyperglycemia? I am right around implantation time & I can NOT for the life of me get my sugars down. I’ve changed my pump site twice, and I even took 10u sub Q and it only brought my 160 to 101. Which is very unlike me. I am usually at a 1:50 ratio for corrections. My sugars have been ranging anywhere from 140 to 200. I get really nervous that something will happen to the baby if it IS implanted, or that this will cause it to not implant.

Hi! I’m sorry to hear you’re going through the stress of fluctuating sugars I know how stressful it can be but from what I am away of your average HBA1C seems amazing and the odd spike or dip wouldn’t affect implantation however I would keep an eye as once you do get pregnant (fingers crossed) your sugars do change drastically and a lot of changes need to be made to your background insulin. That was the same experience I had when I found out I was pregnant - it literally did a 180 so I would definitely reach out to your diabetic nurse and speak to her to see if there is any pattern in your daily readings and see if your background insulin can be increased x pop me a message if you’d like to talk

@Nazia yes, my first pregnancy was wild! I just don’t remember having issues this early on. It’s been consistent for over 24hrs now! I get it down, just doesn’t seem to stay there. I have an apt in 3 weeks, so I adjusted rates until then. Thank you for your help and encouragement ❤️

@Ciara if it’s a matter of giving corrections but it still is going high I would say increase your temp basal and also background insulin as it could be you’re coming down with something too? I hope that helps! 😊

Hi Ciara! Oh my goodness I had a one day where my sugars went really high- and it was around 6-7dpo, and I experienced light cramping on my left side. So I think could definitely have been a result of the implantation looking back? So strange though- insulin did nothing for me on that day, but then the next day they were back down. I completely understand about rhe being critical with every high/ low blood sugar reading though! It can be so hard sometimes. Sending lots of love 💙
