We did pacifier fairy and worked really well. Bought the Rosemary the Pacifier Fairy book on Amazon and read for about 1.5 weeks to prep, then picked a day and counted down to it. Put her binkies in an envelope and left them for Rosemary and then the fairy left her a present in the morning. For a toddler that was soooo attached to her pacis for sleep im amazed how well she transitioned! Had crying for 10 min or so the first night and that was it. Next few nights were easier about 5 min or so. Whenever she asks about them we say Rosemary took them to give to other babies who need them and she is ok with that answer! We're about 3 weeks in and she doesn't ask anymore

Cold turkey. Do something fun to send it off and after that she doesn’t get it back. It’ll be rough but maybe you can replace it with a new security item.
