C Section Booking Date

Yeah your consultant will book it at one of your appointments

Yes I received the date for my c-section when I had the appointment with the consultant. They left it for me at 39 weeks 0 days.

I’m having a induction I’m 36 weeks today I have appointment this week on Friday to discuss a date more than likely you’ll have an appointment in the next 2 weeks x

I got my date and time at 36 weeks.

@Lesley oh good! Honestly we've been 'scanning, watching and waiting' for weeks now and every time I see him I feel so deflated. I see him again on the 20th and I'll be 35 weeks then. I just want to know so I can mentally and physically prepare. It's causing me so much anxiety. So will I know there and then after I see him when the date will be? Thank you for responding xx

@Georgia I really do hope so. I am constantly on edge not knowing. It's driving me insane 😫 I need time to repair and not be told "next week at such and such" 🙈 xx

@Imelda thats good to know! I am feeling hopeful for my appointment with him on the 20th. They seem to leave it so last minute xx

I've been told my section will be at 39 weeks but I don't have an actual date yet but I go back and see them on the 13th so hopefully know more soon

@Carla-May I know for me I was told at my last appointment I will have to decide what I am doing at my 36 week appointment and a c-section will be booked at that appointment. Although I’m choosing between 39/40 weeks. I think I’m going to opt for one at 40 weeks and if the baby comes before then try natural. I had a previous c-section. Just be firm at the next appointment that you want a date. They may have wanted to hold off giving you a date until they know if they want to aim for 36 or 38 weeks.

I have booked at 39+3 week in January

I had my consultation a while ago and they booked me in for 39 weeks (this is standard apparently). You will then be contacted at around 36 weeks with an exact date and time.. this can be a phone call or letter. If you haven’t already you’ll need to discuss with a consultant on what you’re doing should your waters break/ go into labour before your date… they can take you in for an emergency.

@Carla-May can I ask why or how they gave date needs to be between 36-38wks? Is it down to size of baby or? I always thought it was 39wks I wish they’d bring my cesearian forward, so uncomfortable 😣

I've had an emergency section at 33.5 weeks... then 40 +14 then 38 weeks but this time they've told me 39 weeks as it drops the chances of baby going into special care. Well thats what my consultant told me.

Consultant will book you in. My last was booked in at 36 weeks for 39 weeks. This seems to be normal time to book in if baby don’t need to be out early, This one he booked me in at 31 weeks for 39 weeks xx
