Submucosal fibroids

Hi! I'm 24w5d. At my 20 weeks NHS scan my baby was all good. Everything checked and in place. A week later I had a 3D private scan abroad where the OB found a 3x4cm submucosal fibroid, he was surprised this has not been flagged the week before. I have a private gynaecologist appointment this Monday through my insurance for a follow up of a big ovary cyst and I'm planning to ask him about it and then on Thursday I'll see my midwife. Is this something I should worried about? I read so much online that scared me saying I might need a c section.. Have you experienced something like this? Where NHS doesn't see all? Things like this can be overlooked? Any experience or knowledge with fibroids during pregnancy and delivery?

At my 20 week scan I was told my fibroid has grown to 6 cms. So would be interested to hear of others experiences as well! Will be meeting the consulate to chat about it tomorrow!. Mine was 3cm at my 12 week appointment. Worth knowing they can grow due to pregnancy hormones. So it may have just gotten bigger, rather than not be picked up

Hey! Not in the exact same boat but my mum had 30 fibroids when she was pregnant with me which resulted in a c section as there was no way of pushing me out! I have 1 measuring 4cm but I have 2 extra nhs scans to see if it grows

It depends where they are. But coming from an elective but basically only option c-section delivery - it's really nice!! Calm, all the medics you need there, quicker recovery than emergency c-sec. You get your date and time in advance and meet baby a bit sooner. If you do end up having to get a section ask for a 'pico dressing' it'll speed up your recovery and decrease your pain by a lot! x
