I gained weight with the implant so I wouldn’t choose to have it again. X

I’ve had the implant before baby and had a new one fitted after. I feel the same and it’s my go to contraception. Each implant I have had has given me different periods tho so that’s the only issue xx

I’ve had the copper coil for 4 years. I went with it as I didn’t want any hormonal contraception. Was good because it was fitted and forgotten about, however, I experienced severe period pains which lead to false diagnosis of endometriosis that’s how bad they were. After coming off the coil and getting pregnant a year later, I will not be getting the coil. I’m not using any proper contraception, I’m following natural cycles.

i have the implant, my periods are a complete mess :/ it’s definitely made me way more emotional and my moods more extreme x

I had the implant and ended up on my period for 9 months 😅 they refused to take it out for ages saying that it would settle on its own but never did so I refused to leave until it was taken out 😅 I'm booked in to get the mirena coil next week, I did consider getting the copper coil as it's non hormonal but was advised against it because it's more likely to make your periods heavier and I'm already on medication to try and lighten my periods due to them being extremely heavy! After doing some research into the mirena, the only hormone it has is progesterone which is the natural hormone you produce while breastfeeding anyway so I'm hoping I won't have any issues 🤞

I’ve had bad experiences with both. Implant I gained over 2 stone in a few months and turned into an actual psychopath. The coil, I couldn’t sit down after they fitted it, they hadn’t put it in right and I was in pain for days. I went in because the string was right at the entrance so wanted that to be shortened, as they were doing that, they yanked it out and I bled everywhere 🙃 I ended up not going on contraception after that 😂

I have the implant and maybe after 6 months I started bleeding on and off everyday like I would bleed at night but not all day or it would switch and I would bleed all day but not at night then I may have had one day of not bleeding but the next morning bleed again this happend for two years straight I tried calling my obgyn but they never got back to me so I just went into the office and asked if I could make a appointment it wasn't heavy like my normal period but I had to have at least a pad down because I would bleed throw if I didn't there idea to fix it was to pur me on the depo shot as well but it shouldn't chance two much shot number three I'm thinking about changing birth control but not sure to what I should do as well this is my first time being on birth control to.
