Braxton hicks or contractions?

So I went into day bed yesterday morning with reduced movements and the ctg started picking up tightenings, nothing painful just aware it was happening. They did an exam to ensure I wasn’t dilated and thankfully they said I wasn’t but due to my fast my delivery was with my daughter 11 months ago, they kept me in for observation. I was put back on the monitor at 6:10pm and the tightening was still very much happening, at around 6:55pm they picked up massively (again not painful just more uncomfortable). They didn’t seem concerned about the tightening but didn’t do another speculum to check before sending me home at 9:30pm. They said if anything changed to go back in, tightenings are still the same as yesterday. Has anyone ever had experience with this and still managed to go to full term or does this look like labour starting? I’m only 34 + 4 and was induced first time round so not really sure what natural labour feels like x

I had this with my first, I was having such big contractions on the monitor but NO feeling no pain etc. I gave birth 7 days later. I wasn’t in labour, I think it was my body practicing x

Was it your taco readings? I can’t make it out properly. I was in earlier this week with reduced movements and admitted so spent multiple times on the ECG and it was all explained to me. My readings however were more Braxton hicks/board line contractions. But I can’t read yours the best! Xx

@Mathilda oh I see! I’m Hoping he stays in a little bit longer. They didn’t seem concerned but now I am lol xx

@Charlotte I’m not entirely sure, I was just told the bottom line was the contractions/tightenings. I was advised to just keep an eye on them and if I get any pain or signs of labour to go back in xx

@Caitlin arghhh right. I was going to say if you know the readings I’ll be able to tell you as they explained and told me what the readings are for everything and what’s “normal” what’s “Braxton hicks” what’s “first stage labour” and what’s “second/advanced labour” I’m sure if there was an issue they would of kept you in though! If the bottom readings are the taco which I think they are then the morning is Braxton hicks and then the afternoon is some contractions but not consistent. Just from what I was told earlier in the week. Xxx

@Charlotte I will ask that question when I never go in for some monitoring - thank you tho 😊 absolutely, I’m not in pain so I’d rather be at home for as long as possible xx

@Caitlin defo. Possibly slow labour? And yes stay at home if you can! Good that you were checked though! Xx

I had this last Sunday, went in with RFM and then the monitor picked up really regular tightenings which I could feel, but didn’t feel like they were painful as such just uncomfortable. They did a speculum and like you it hadn’t changed my cervix at all and a week later I’m still having some tightenings but nothing further so hopefully that puts your mind at ease that it doesn’t always equal labour/baby 😊 x

@Natalie I’m hoping that it doesn’t amount of anything until after 37 weeks so fingers crossed this is the case🤞🏽 although they have still been happening so will maybe get checked out again just incase xx
