I started feeling kicks around 22 weeks I think it was. I’m now 30+2 and feel so much more. Before everything was round the sides and bottom of my belly I’m now feeling him move in the middle too
Not until around 30 weeks
I had posterior with my first 4 babies and had movements from 17 weeks, my 5th baby was anterior and didn't feel a single flutter until 21-22 weeks. Started getting more movements around 25 weeks x

Il be 23 wks tomorrow i saw on my hospital notes i have a anterior placenta this will be my 3rd baby due in aug, the staff haven’t explained i never had this with my other 2 . What is anterior placenta? On last scan i mentioned it but they didnt want to talk abou it they said yes its on ur left side now ?? But on other scan it showed it was pushed in to the baby face on the top. Can someone pls explain to me 🙏 sorry 😞 xx
I can feel little flutters here and there x
@Charlene it’s just that your placentas at the front of your belly so your babies behind the placenta not at the front if that makes sense, very common and nothing to worry about it just disguises kicks and wriggles abit more than usual x
@Charlene anterior placenta is when it’s at the front, a lot of babies movements may be cushioned as they are behind the placenta x
Oh right ok i see , thanks everyone very helpful to know 🙏, does this effect with the day of the birth? xx
And will the placenta move back to normal durin pregnancy? Xx
Or will it stay in that place? Iv never heard of this before xxx
@Charlene it won’t affect birth and it will stay like that throughout pregnancy. You will still feel bigger movements later on even if you have a slight barrier.

@Charlene no it doesn't affect labour or delivery, would only be affected if you had placenta previa which is where the placenta covers the cervix. It will just stay in place at the front until it comes away and is delivered after baby is born. Anterior placenta is a normal placement during pregnancy. X
Oh ok thank you 🙏 xxx
I have a high anterior placenta (first pregnancy). Felt light swishing from week 14 like a little octopus changing direction. I wasn’t sure if that was movement until week 16 when I felt a definite movement. Stopped me in my tracks, felt like I’d gone over a bridge in a car fast and something dropped like on a rollercoaster. From then on movement became more regular, stronger and more obvious like baby rolling and squirming.
About 22-24 weeks
Thanks for all the responses! It’s difficult being the third pregnancy and usually feeling movements by this time point in pregnancy previously (15 weeks). Hopefully won’t be much longer! Xx
Started feeling movements from 22/23 weeks only lightly - placenta has moved right up now so can feel alot more in lower tummy x
