Elective c sections

Ladies who are having elective c sections how are you feeling? My last birth I had a traumatic time and ended up having an emergency c section, I've opted for an elective c section this time, I am excited but yet so nervous!

I feel like there is no easy way to get this baby out, and I choose an elective because of how awful that last week was with mine and the trauma of what happened during labour. Knowing I’m at a higher risk of it happening again makes me want to avoid contractions.

I’ve opted for an elective, right now I’m just excited but ask me on the day and I’m sure it’ll all change 😂 I’m trying to visualise it all and make it positive in my mind which seems to be working x

I’m having an elective after an emergency with my first after a horrendous 4 days in labour. I really wanted/want a Vbac but then this changes daily, people love to talk about their awful deliveries with forceps/tearing etc and that makes me feel like an elective is the right choice… but then a few hours later I’m back to wanting a Vbac to prove to myself I can do it 😂🤷🏼‍♀️

I’ve got my elective tomorrow and still not overly nervous 🤞🏻 I’m sure I won’t get much sleep tonight and it’ll hit me in the morning but just trying to stay calm x

I’ve opted for an elective this time as last time was an emergency and was so scary . I’m still so scared this time tho xx

I had 2 and a half days of labour that ended in an emergency c section last time so have opted for an elective this time. It's in less than 2 weeks and I'm anxious 😕

I am having elective section in 20 days. I had a long and painful journey to this pregnancy, including early losses and IVF. I knew from very beginning this, although not easy option is the right one for me.

@Lily I could have written this word for word myself 😂🤷🏼‍♀️

Same as everyone else! Traumatic first birth- 4 day labour ending in category 1 C-section. Would love to have a VBAC but don’t want to risk ending up with an unplanned or emergency C-section again, so leaning towards C-section. Although tomorrow I’ll probably change my mind again haha. 🤦🏼‍♀️

I’m having an elective and it’s with my first! They were going to book it in for next week 39 weeks but went for a growth scan and he’s stopped growing and I have preeclampsia so I’m now having him today ! X

I’m having a opted c section it’s my first but she’s complete breech and has been for ten weeks and vaginal breech birth and trying to turn sounded like more risky options for baby I’m terrified but it’s what’s safest for her xx

Currently sat waiting for mine! I everyone we’ve spoken to has been great - all questions asked and checks done so just waiting our turn now 🥰 the staff have been amazing so far and really put us at ease 🤞🏻

@Samantha good luck lovely! I'm so glad the staff has been amazing this is what I like to hear it makes me feel relaxed for mine 🥰 x

@Samantha good luck!

I had an emergency section (after his HR dropped in induction) the 1st time around… second one I had an elective section and for me it was the best decision-so calm and felt like I had a bit of control, knew exactly what was happening etc … we are due our 3rd late July who will be another planned section, really hoping it’s as lovely as the last 🩵 Obviously only my experience but I couldn’t fault it. Good luck xx
