I'd say give them a gentle nudge. With my last baby I had an elective c-section due to her being breech. At the time the consultant told me she would be born 38/39 weeks and I naively just waited for my appointment. Ended up having an elective section at 40 + 1 weeks, which was absolutely fine but I must admit I was a nervous wreck about going into labour xx
Most hospitals give you a weeks notice as so much can change
@Sarah do you have any risks like a low placenta because you probably won't find out until next week or something I think 🙈
@Steph yeah I'll give them a call tomorrow and see what they say because I'm starting to panic now 😂 my bump has dropped and I really don't want to go on my own 🙈😂
@Heather yeah if there's no risks I can understand that but I'm panicking because of my low placenta 😬 but I'm sure I'll find out soon 😂
I am consultant led but had a date at 24 weeks xx
I'm 34 weeks nearly and was told I'd find out 2-3 weeks before! I have GD too and also consultant led! Xx
It must just all depend on the hospital and surgeons etc thanks for all your replies! Wishing you all amazing births and speedy recoveries 🥰❤️
I’m 34 weeks today too, i’m already booked for elective C section so i have a date. Just email your consultant not mid-wives and they will give you a date.
I got told by my consultant if I pick an elective they'll ring me 5 days before the date!
I’m having one at 39+1 and chose my date at 33+5 because she said the slots get booked up quickly, my hospital only do electives 2 days a week though xx
I rang my hospital there girls and they said I'm booked in for 28th August! Eeeeep 😁 I'll be 37 +1 when I get mine! Exciting times ahead for us all 🥰🩷
I'm asking for an elective section and they will not book it until 36 week consultant appointment. I think different hospitals do it differently.
@Cathy I know this isn’t helpful but I’m also high risk, T1 diabetes early signs of preeclampsia and high blood pressure and they’ve said they’ll give a weeks notice but request a specific date when they do! So when you choose your section ask them what date they’ve gone for for some guidance. It’s because things can change and so many mums get disappointed which I can understand but not great for us!
I’m 37 weeks & still waiting for my date 😭 x
