Maternity Leave Boredom

Slightly different post but I’m due on Thursday and have been on maternity leave for the last 3 weeks and I am completely bored and over it now. There is only so much TV, reading, errands and cleaning I can do. All my friends work full time so it’s been difficult to meet up with them during the week. I know lots of people say enjoy this time whilst you can but I am someone who likes to keep busy and is used to a very stressful job. I am also someone who would normally be doing lots of active things like long dog walks but being this close to my due date I just lack the physical energy to do that anymore! Any suggestions on things to keep me busy and pass the time would be great. Cabin fever is starting to set in!

I was exactly the same! I was told to make the most of it but I just wanted to be busy. I ended up buying a colouring book and some arty stuff to keep me occupied and then when I went into hospital I was in a while so took it with me and I'm so glad I did. Now my little boy is 2 weeks old and I wish I had the energy to colour xx

I'm feeling the exact same although currently in my 6th off as baby is currently 9 days overdue. Just trying to occupy ourselves with planning at least 1 thing in each day xx

Also at this point now having been finished work for just over 3 weeks, due date tomorrow. Baking or batch cooking fills some time and you'll probably be glad of the batch cooking once baby is here.

I’ve tried baking! It’s safe to say I will not be going on the Great British bake off any time soon 🤣 think I will have to invest in some arty projects. Although have already made some artwork for the nursery! Thought this would be the perfect time to do all the DIY projects around the house but again just lack the energy for it!

I am getting bored because I'm reluctant to plan much, as I'm due on Sunday but I've also got a 3 year old so I'm a bit anxious being alone all day, in case anything happens but also I don't want him to be bored. Luckily a lot of my friends work random days and my parents are retired so I've managed to get someone to visit each day to stop me going crazy

Puzzles or colouring in/ painting? Have you thought about doing a journal of pregnancy or for the first year. Reading. Baking. Have you got a garden?

Go to the cinema and enjoy the freedom and air con :)

This is me. I still have just under 3 weeks until my due date, I have loads to do around the house but I just haven’t got the energy I’m exhausted 🤣
