Reduced baby movement…

I am considering getting checked out at the ER, to make sure baby is okay but I’m doubting myself. My baby would kick and move a whole lot! At least every night or every other night at the LEAST but most would be multiple times a day. I take videos of him kicking every time he does so the last time I felt him move all on his own was Friday/Saturday. I got him to kick a few (but way less) by going the flash light on the belly trick the night before last. And last night/yesterday it’s like he wasn’t kicking but I could feel him move like barrel roll or roll over and then that’s it. I want to make sure everything is okay better safe than sorry. But also feel like maybe I’m overreacting??

Go and get checked love say if you feel decrease kn movement from normal then get him checked to be on the safe side . I was getting ultrasounds my whole 1st trimesters fear of him not being okay they understood and allowed me to see my baby so go

Up to you! You know your body best. Have you tried having some sugar like drinking juice to see if that gets them moving?

I want to say trust your gut and get seen if you feel the need especially if it would give you a good peace of mind. BUT I make very active babies both move/moved all the time and I went to l&d for decreased movement with my first because she was moving less than normal and I also wasn’t feeling her move and they basically told me I was fine that I just have an overactive baby on a normal basis and that as long as I felt 5 movements no matter how small in an hour I was at normal and anything over was “extra”

I have noticed that my baby decided to change up her routine. I went through days of freaking myself out because she wasn’t moving as much at night anymore but now I’ve noticed she’s been way more active in the daytime. Maybes he is changing up his active time 😅

Go and get checked. As my Dr said, “you can come in and lose an hour of your day and have nothing wrong or something is wrong and they can fix it”

I agree, it can be scary! I almost went earlier this week. I could feel movements but fewer than normal. I decided to do one more test before going to the hospital. I had a very long few days and heard you can notice less movement when you’re exhausted also. I drank 8 oz of OJ and laid on my left side. Then I felt 10 quick movements in about 10 min! Back to normal since then. But def go if nothing seems to be super reassuring to you at home.

Hi thanks everyone for the advice. I went and he’s okay thank goodness!! I appreciate everyone’s advice. Sometimes I just feel like oh I’m just being anxious or silly it’s probs fine and always have issues with “bothering” the hospital staff if he ends up being fine but I’m glad I went :)

Also just keep in mind as your pregnancy progresses, the movements will become less and less profound because your baby is running out of space to go off. You should still feel rolls and weird internal sensations, but you won’t get the violent punches and kicks that you’d get in your second trimester.

@Elise oooh thank you for this comment. This is interesting. This might be the case because even after going to hospital and him being fine still days after it’s been reduced! I’ve always been told the kicks and movement would be stronger as I get further along because he would gain muscle and weight. But your point actually makes so much more sense! Thank you!
