Does xonvea work I’m getting it tomorrow I was on steroids previously with my first pregnancy xxxx

@Bridie I got diagnosed and put on xonvea after ending up in a&e with an oesophagus tear and vomiting blood. I was having a meltdown begging them to help me because I couldn’t do it anymore. Some people are only prescribed 1 a day, I’m on 4 plus cyclizine on top of that so if it’s not working at the amount you’ve started just go back and speak to the midwives, they will help you!
@Bridie only not sure where you’ve got it from but gps will try and get you off it, or switch you to something else. It’s because it’s really expensive and they have a budget, the hospitals and midwives don’t care though, just go through them xx

I took Xonvea until the day I gave birth and it was for constant nausea rather than vomiting. I was advised to try reducing the dosage by one tablet at a time and see how it made me feel, but every time I did I was feeling worse so I’d increase again. GP agreed it was best to keep taking. I would probably try doing the same, and see how you feel. Either way, it’s the only drug available licensed specifically for pregnancy sickness and is safe to continue taking.

I tried coming off at 24 weeks and was still very sick so if you do do it please do it gradually. It's an amazing tablet and you don't realise it's power until you cut it out. Now 31 weeks and have cut down again but gradually and it seems to be working this time x
