When to tell your manager you are pregnant?

Hi Ladies I go into the office two days a week and work from home the rest of the week. Today I came into the office and I’m really struggling to keep my eyes open at my desk despite having my eight hours last night. My manager has even mentioned that I look tired. I am only just over 5 weeks pregnant. I’m thinking about telling her as I might not be as productive as usual. How are others dealing with this? Has anyone told their manager yet?

I was thinking this today too. 5 weeks today but not seeing the midwife until Monday. Was going to tell her after that. Congratulations xx

I’m ideally going to wait for 12 weeks but legally you don’t have to tell them until the 15 weeks before your due date.

Congratulations🥰. I told my manager as soon as I found out as I worked with children and they would need to do a risk assessment x

I haven’t said anything yet. I’m at 17 weeks. I’m just waiting until I basically have to say something (when I’m showing).

Congratulations!! I told my manager straight away due to working with children and needing risk assessment x

I didn’t tell my manager until 16 weeks with my daughter.

I told mine around 14 weeks due to sickness and wanting to explain what my appointments were for x

I’ve told one manager at 5 weeks, as I can’t do my job role past 20 weeks for health and safety. (They’ll find me other things to do), but haven’t told another job, as I work 2 part time jobs x

I told my boss yesterday at 5weeks 5 days as have a midwife appointment booked for next week and have been having bad morning sickness.

I told mine yesterday at 5 weeks. Mainly because I need a risk assessment due to working with adults with LD - lots of manual handling and challenging behaviour in my job x

Once I found out

Aiming not to tell until after the 12 week scan, unless I feel particularly unwell

I’ve been really sick so I told mine already. It’s obviously nice to be able to wait until 12 weeks but you need to survive the first trimester too. Telling my manager brings comfort in what is already a challenging time, but then it depends on how supportive you think they’d be.

Mt last pregnancy I told my manager around 5 weeks. I felt awfully sick and horrid the whole time. It just gives them a little more understanding of the situation. This pregnancy I will be telling her a little later if I can help it. But every pregnancy is different xx
