I don't have the answer but I'm also scared of this! I want my little boy to have a sibling at some point but cmpa took my newborn stage away from me and I'm so scared of that happening again but I do believe it's a pot of luck of who gets and who doesn't x
Honestly the risk is the same. I have 3 kids and only my 3rd has it. This time round u have the advantage of having the knowledge about CMPA and are aware of symptoms now. First time you was clueless so don’t make it put you off.
I have been one of the unfortunate ones that have had 2 children with it but all I’ll say is the second you know the signs early and don’t doubt yourself and the doctors are quicker to treat when you have a sibling with it - my second showed exact same signs at the same time (as soon as my milk came in around day 4/5) so I just went straight to A&E as passed 15 watery and mucous poo in 12h and was screaming in agony and with a bit of fight was put straight onto AA milk and symptoms improved within 24h … unfortunately my second then also had TT issues and reflux on top but the CMPA was dealt with quickly so even if number 2 does have it you don’t have the same battle ahead necessarily xx
Our dietician said it’s very common but doesn’t always happen. We’re currently trying to figure out if my second baby has it as she’s showing some symptoms but not all so we don’t know if it’s that or something else
I had 2 babies with it as well. But like Hollie said. You know the signs and are much more prepared 🤍🤍
My oldest doesn't have it but my youngest does I think its just luck of the draw kind of thing but you'll be more prepared knowing the signs earlier and you'll also know what to do snd drs usually listen quicker
My oldest had it but grew out of it and my youngest now has it but worse x
My eldest had such severe cmpa he would have seizures. We now have a daughter and there's 13 months between them in age she's not got cmpa at all. Waiting to see if she's got my severe soya allergy or her brother's coeliac allergy as she's not ready to wean yet but it's all luck of the draw bar the coeliac that's genetic
3 kids here and only my 3rd has it (different father though if that makes a difference)
My daughter is 3 and my son is 7 months and they’ve both had it with my son being more severe 😞 my daughter thrived on RTF nutramigen til she was one but my son gets constipated on nutramigen. He’s now on neocate and doing somewhat better although we are waiting to see a gastroenterologist.
My eldest doesn't have CMPA but my youngest does so I think it's partially down to luck of the draw x
