Is this early slow labour?

Since yesterday morning, I’ve had terrible, terrible back pain which then stretches around to my front and is like period pains, lasts for around 1-2 minutes. I’ve been timing it, it has gone from every 2 hours, to 1 hour and now to every 40 minutes! Babies movements seemed to have slowed down too… I got this checked and baby is all ok and MAU just told me to go back when the pains are every 5 minutes apart…. I’m guessing this is slow/early labour?
