4th degree tear rectovaginal fistula

Hi all, so I’m 14 weeks postpartum and had a 4th degree year with my first baby due to a forceps birth. However around the 7 week mark I noticed I was having a weird discharge and it ended up to be faeces. I spoke to my gynaecologist about this and they sent me for an MRI on the 2nd September. I had my results today and I have a rectovaginal fistula. Meaning Faeces is coming through into my vagina, this started off as just small discharge but I’m now getting full on faeces. Can I ask has anyone else experienced this? I’ve been told it’s a 12 month wait just to see someone before any repair can be done. My mental health is in the gutter right now.

Aw. You’re not alone. ❤️‍🩹 I as well suffered a RVF from my sons birth. Mine was vacuum delivered. A 12 month wait?? No no. Maybe try and find a different office that can see you soon. I would try and find a local or nearby colorectal doctors office. Message me if you want to talk. I’m 4 years postpartum and I have been through it all. ❤️‍🩹
