Thoughts on QC

What does everyone think of Queen Charlotte’s so far? I’m having my 2nd baby there only had a few appointments so far. Had my first at Hillingdon hospital. We live closer to Hillingdon but chose Queen Charlotte this time around. Does anyone have any positive feedback to share? I’m thinking of having a VBAC (if I can) and am wondering if this would need to be on the labour ward? I haven’t seen the birthing centre or labour wards yet I’m not sure if you can ask for a tour of it. We did this before at Hillingdon but the birth centre was closed when I last gave birth! Thanks x

Queen Charlotte’s has a better CQC rating than Hillingdon and the overall standard of care is better. It’s cleaner too. I had a successful vbac a few days ago and they were super supportive. Vbacs do take place on labour ward as it’s easier to transport if you needed an emergency c-sec.

Glad you had a successful vbac congratulations ❤️ How did you find the support leading up to it? I’ve been having cervical scans to check if all ok. How did you find the labour ward? Do you know if birth partners are allowed to stay overnight? Thank you x

Birth partners are allowed to stay. You’re allowed a maximum of two and they will receive wristbands. They have comfy chairs for birth partners that recline or extend to a sleeping position. They will also provide pillows/blankets for birth partners as well.

No complaints from the support. They listened and provided advice. They’re all very kind and genuinely care about your wellbeing. There is a birthing pool but it’s first come first served, so it’s not guaranteed.

Ok fab thank you; glad you had a good experience.
