Hearing test should’ve been preferred before leaving the hospital, but it doesn’t hurt to get baby checked again. My daughter doesn’t look at me 90% of the time I say her name, but I taught her how to say “huh” so she mostly does that🤦🏽♀️ Is baby following “no” or “stop”? Engaging with you?
Does your son look at you at all when you talk to him or make noises at him like clapping? Does he babble back at you when you’re talking to him? Is it just his name he isn’t reacting to? My son doesn’t always respond to his name, we call him so many different nicknames that he honestly probably doesn’t know which one is actually his name. He also gets very distracted by looking at everything around him that sometimes it takes a minute for him to react to me talking to him.
Oh gosh yes he looks at me in the eyes and we have baby conversations all the time. He laughs ALL the time bless him. No he doesn’t follow no because i don’t know when i need to tell a 7 month old no? 😂😂 Also, same! We call him so many nicknames 😂 Not worried at all about his hearing x
Its never to early to tell a baby no, the earlier you speak to baby is the earlier they begin to understand what you’re saying. I’m sure you praise him for doing good things so telling him no when needed is fine. My daughter used to grab my hair and pull it (unintentionally as she was only a few months old) I used to gently remove her hand and gently say no thank you. I think if he gets to 9 months old and he’s not reacting to his name then you might want to seek professional advice but at 7 months old I don’t think it’s a concern.
Aaaaah yes I guess I do say no when he pulls my hair 😂😂 and some times when he pulls the dogs ears too haha but I definitely don’t say it often enough for him to know to stop because I’ve said no?
Girl that was just a general question to help understand your question, it was very open ended so we could only speculate your concern. My daughter is crawling with a little bit of walking, I’m teaching her no stairs, no the remote doesn’t go in your mouth, stop touching the garbage can, etc. Are parents of crawlers/walkers not doing this???
Charlie didn't respond to his name until about 2 days ago. He's 8 months on 15th, so about 7.5 months now
Oh yes 100% @Jaymie once they’re crawling there are many more opportunities to say no once they’re in to all your stuff haha! Okay fab, @Cathy my LO is 8 months on the 20th. He sometimes looks at me when I say his name but I don’t believe it’s responding to his name, just my voice. How often should they respond?
Should go to the doctors get a hearing test done if he doesn’t pass maybe look into testing for autism
