Reduce movements/Induction

I’m just curious—I've seen many of you mention being booked for an induction after experiencing reduced movements. I was wondering why that is or if there are other factors that lead to an early induction?

I got induced with my first for reduced movements and they only told me I’d be getting induced at 37 weeks. This time round I have reduced movements again and I’m 36 weeks 4 days currently and they’ve just told me take it day by day so I assume it’s different for everyone

I think it depends on lots of factors also if they are happy with the trace after you come in for reduced movements, i had reduced movements with my first but i didnt get induced, they are looking to potentially induce me at 37weeks this time but that is due to baby being small x

I personally found this really annoying last time, however, it can also be 100% necessary. Last time I went in I think three times and they started talking about induction if I went in again. They’d not found any reason to induce and personally that only made me not want to go in. I think if they monitor and find absolutely nothing wrong then they shouldn’t induce or even bring it up however it’s usually the standard suggestion. Of course you can say no but if anything it makes me less likely to want to get checked which really could be an issue. It’s often hard to feel movement if you have an anterior placenta sometimes, or if you’re distracted etc. and it’s just for reassurance going in but I don’t think they should induce unless they see something concerning. Of course if you want to have an induction also 1000% your valid choice! Movement tracking is stressful

Sorry for the word vomit…my 39 week brain is all over the shop 🤣

Same thing happend with me today… I am 38+5 days and went to triage for reduced movements. It’s my third time going there for reduced movement. They did the monitoring and also the scan. Everything came out positive. But when the doctor came in she said there’s a guideline to booked in for induction for reduced movement at this time of pregnancy. She asked me if I want it or not. So i decided to have it on Saturday when I’ll be 39 weeks

I believe they will recommend an induction regardless if you go in for any reduced movements after 36/37 weeks, as part of their guidelines. If baby is monitoring well there’s really no reason to be induced.
