Name debate

My son’s name is gonna be after his dad who is the 2nd. So his name will be Zachary Donald Mills III. I already have a son named Zaylen (our names put together). I really wanted my baby to have a unique name but sadly we just cannot agree since this will be my last child. I don’t mind him having his name but I cannot come up with a nickname for him. We are calling him Junior, even though he technically isn’t, (my mother in law LOVES to remind me of this every-time we discuss the name). I don’t want to call him Zachary. And no I do not want to call him TREY, or TRE, Z3, or 3. Idk I’m having such a hard time with this. I love my other son’s name and I know I’m gonna hate calling my newborn anything other than Jr. But I’ll have to hear it from my mother in law Everytime I see her. My fiancés dad has been deceased since he was 4 so they’ve never called him jr so I’m not sure what the big deal is.

I’m confused why he wouldn’t be a junior just cuz he’s the third? Like out of all living members with the name lineage or whatever the oldest is referred to as senior and the younger junior doesn’t matter if it’s a 5th or a third or what lol at least that’s to my understanding. I would just tell my mil to stop 😂 we were gonna name our boy after my husband and make him a junior but ended up not doing it because I at least wanted to choose a unique middle name I hated the thought of not really choosing anything and my husband wanted all or nothing

No advice but solidarity because we’re going through a very similar thing with picking a name. FIL is Anthony and husband goes by Tony. They have different middle names so my husband technically isn’t a junior. I want my son to have his own name or nickname at least. Selfishly I don’t want the confusion of my husband and child not knowing who I’m talking to in our home. So we’re still not settled on a name 🙃

@Bri Were are going to be some of the few who probably wait til the day we go into labor lol! @Autumn and you’re right. I guess the hormones are just making everyone so annoying to me at this point. I try to be nice to my MIL but her and this junior thing is really triggering me lol. It’s like i am already having a hard enough time with the name and then she says oh we can’t call him Jr. it’s like please shut up 🙄🤣
