i think by pattern they mean more like does baby consistently move after certain activities. im almost 30 weeks and can go a few hours without feeling any movement. but he always moves when im lying in bed, when i have a cold drink usually juice and after i eat things with sugar
I think it's a bit misleading to talk/think about a pattern in terms of something like kicks per hour. And yes, periods of movement and periods of rest are normal. They don't have to even be the same day to day. The "pattern" may well be associated with what you're doing, whether you're more or less active than usual etc. By now you should know what's normal for your baby and what's not so if you have any concerns that something is off you should call triage xx
