Pain after getting IUD?
I recently got the copper IUD and have been getting extreme pain in my pelvic area/hips/legs. Is this normal? Also, my husband and I had sex last night & it felt almost “blocked” like it didn’t go all the way in. I’ve never had any type of birth control before & would love to hear if anyone has had similar experiences

This seems not normal. Did they do an ultrasound to make sure it was placed properly?
When did you get it? I was like this for a week or 2 after getting my first one in
@Candise I got it 3 days ago, did you experience both the pain & the blocked feeling?
Yes the blocking feeling still happened for quite a while after but not everytime

I’d check with your doc. While some pain after is normal mine has only ever been period type cramps. Blocked and pain sounds like swelling which could be an infection. Even if it’s not, it’s not worth the risk of not getting it checked. Have you had a temp or anything?
