LOTS of movement to barely any

Hi all, I’m 34+3 and at the start of the week I’ve had days where there’s been lotttssss of movement, almost feels like baby hasn’t stopped moving. Last night and this morning I’m worried because I’m experiencing very different and she only really kicks if I nudge her or have a good gulp of water but even then it’s not as much. I feel like I keep getting this cycle, then I’ll go to triage be put on the monitor and she’ll start moving as she should. Really stresses me out because I’m like is this just part of your movement pattern or is there something wrong? At every midwife of hospital app she seems very happy, heartbeat is perfect etc so I just never know what do to.

I’ve been told they have lazy days just like us, so if they’ve had really active days they’re probably just having a day of been lazy. I’m the same, so I know what you mean trying to tell if it’s just their pattern/been lazy or if something needs checking! If you’re worried I would still get seen though just to double check x

My baby does this, I have days where there’s clusters of non stop movement and other days I feel it much less. I think for me it can depend how they are laying and how much I feel or notice it. I go to triage though just to get checked as best to be safe than sorry. They say you should get both increased & decreased movement checked every time xx

I think sometimes change in position and routine has an effect or baby moving! Always get checked if you’re worried but they do have lazier days the lady said when I went in around 26 weeks x

Also 34+3 today and my little lady has been going crazy since about 2am no sleep for me 😂 she was much calmer yesterday! If in doubt just call your midwife or maternity unit they would rather see you every single day than you be at home worrying or questioning things ❤️

I’d always just go and get baby checked out. Who cares what they think at hospital, you’ll never see them again and they advise you to go in for reduced movements. Better to be safe. X

Thanks all! I called triage in the end and went for monitoring, I think she maybe changed position as she is back to her usual antics now after giving me a day of palpitations lol x

Please ignore anyone saying they have quiet days, this is not good info, any changes to less movements, need to be seen in triage

Glad you went. Always best to check no matter how little your concern is. These babies are far too important 🤍

@Herbi I’d never heard of quiet days either tbh. Second pregnancy here

@Herbi can I just say on the back of this that this is what the midwife actually advised when I went to be seen for reduced movements. Of course still go be seen & checked as it’s always be better to be safe but I was just saying they do also have lazy days which can feel like reduced movements

I went triage yesterday for this reason. Usually baby kicks out when feeding my 1 year old in the night. And he never did. Woke up still nothing drank a full 500ml of cold sweet drink and had breakfast still nothing. Just two rolls in 3 hours. As soon as I got to hospital before the monitor baby got hiccups and I felt like a huge waste of time. Luckily midwife said I didn’t need to justify myself it was better to be safe as the day before I was experiencing a lot of downstairs pressure to the point I couldn’t move. As soon as I was back home baby went quiet again
