I was so itchy with it in my last pregnancy! My bile acid levels were elevated but not high enough to cause concern. I took antihistamines and got prescribed a menthol cream but nothing really helped to be honest. My consultant agreed to induce me from 39 weeks, had baby at 39+6
Just got this weeks blood results back and my bile acids have risen to 38.4😣 I’m due to be induced at 39 weeks anyway but I’m worried they are going to bring it closer. I’m 36 weeks tomorrow how long have you got left? Xx
I’m also being tested weekly for this. My levels keep going up and down. It’s been 15, 8, 29 & 14. If they are 19 or above then it’s classed as it for a diagnosis. They are still yet to officially diagnose me with it but I have a consultant appointment next week were they will be discussing my options anyway. My itching it on and off. Some moments more severe than others, good and bad days x
@Eve I’m 35+5 I’ve got c section booked for 39 weeks! I’ve had all my bloods done today and I’ve been given some tablets to help with the itchiness but I’m worried my bloods will come back with high bile acids, they also suggested a liver scan which jusy scares me! Xx
@Eve I’m 36 weeks today so our due dates are pretty much the same! How bad is your itching? The piriton helped a lot with mine. They sent me for the liver scan too and tbh it was fine nice and quick and she looked at my other organs so I got a quick MOT🤣 hopefully if you do have it it’ll just be mild they told me if the levels stay under 40 you can still deliver at 39 weeks xx
Can I ask the reason you’re having a section have you had one previously? And sorry to be nosey but I saw you’re from notts which hospital are you going to? Xx
@Eve I’ve been given Some tablets, I take them 3 times a day for 5 days, I started them yesterday and I’ve not itched since! My itching was so bad I was making my skin bleed!!! I’ve got a previous c section so the thought of a vbac terrifies me because of the chances of the scar re opening, if I go into labour before 39 weeks then I will try for a vaginal birth , the changes of uterine rupture increase when your induced ect so the Only way I would go down that route is if I went into labour naturally! And I’m going to the qmc what about you? Xx
Omg that’s really good hopefully it’s just a pregnancy thing that caused you to itch and not cholestasis 🤞🏻 yeah that’s fair I was going to go for an elective but I can’t get over not trying for a VBAC, I’m quite scared cos I am being induced but praying things go well. The parking at qmc stresses me out🤣 I was going to go to city but I’m going to Kings Mill now xx
@Eve city honestly is AWFUL for parking I was actually going to go to city but after asking about queens I decided to stay with city , I would of gone to kings mill but it’s a extra 30 mins drive and I’m back at forth at the hospital for appointments with the diabetic and hypotension teams x
@Kirsty omg I know I got transferred there when I had my baby and there’s like 10 parking spaces ffs🤣😣 the Labour ward at city is really nice tbh. They are both the same distance for me so not too bad tbh, do wish I lived closer to a hospital tho🤣 xx
@Eve since booking my elective I feel like I’ve had a change of heart, I do sorta wanna try for the vbac, I can’t be bothered for the c section recovery with a new born and twin toddlers!! Xx
@Eve were about 15 mins from queens and city, ive heard a lot of nice things about city so hopefully ive made the right choice I had my 20 month old in Leicester and that was amazing for parking and the hospital was brilliant too I’m back at city on Tuesday for a growth scan thankfully it’s at 9am so we should get a space 🙏🏼 xx
@Eve omg you have twins!😄🤣 my friend had an elective recently and she said she was up and about in a couple of days and never needed anything stronger than paracetamol apparently it’s completely different to an emergency one 🤞🏻 xx
@Kirsty ah that’s nice and close then. I was there nearly 18 months ago and honestly the staff were lovely and so supportive and helpful. Love an early appointment 👌🏻🤣 xx

@Eve tbh I was completely fine with my last one, I was up and out within a day but I keep thinking the worse 🤣 I keep thinking I’ll find it worse this time I dokt know why!! Xx
It’ll deffo be hard to look after 2 toddlers while recovering! 😣 xx
I had it with my last pregnancy thankfully results came back twice normal x
