Labor?

How do you tell the difference between real contractions and Braxton hicks? What were the contraction signs to look for to indicate you’re starting early labor?

Look for patterns. Braxton hicks will go away with fluids and rest. Labor should get closer together and stronger. Use an app to track

There are "textbook" signs to indicate the differences, but for some people, they aren't different. For me, my whole belly doesn't contract, but super low and like super strong period cramps. Mine never follow a pattern, and will even stop for a bit and pick back up. Even all the way through to delivery, that's how mine are. But the intensity- you will just know. It's so hard to explain, but when you feel it, you will be like "this is it".

period like cramping that comes and goes with some sort of consistency

@Izzie I like the some sort of consistency cause it's definitely not exact!

Thank you guys, I was cramping while attempting to rest, once I got moving I was fine. Good to know what to look out for though!

Just had my baby yesterday and FTM. I had “hug” Braxton hicks contractions, but the night I went into labor the contractions felt like period cramps and then all of a sudden I had a bloody show. Watch for consistent rhythm to the timing and when you know, you’ll know.
