Both are very close in different ways. If winston got shortened then is basically the same nickname as your daughter. Wilfred has the same ending as your daughter but winnie and wilf/wilfred sound different enough to be usable. U could even use fred as a nickname. I love the name wilfred so that'd be my pick of the 2
Winifred and Wilfred are obvs similar in the endings - but i love Wilfred, especially with Wilf as a nickname! if you plan to mainly call them by their nicknames, Winnie and Wilf are so cute together for siblings. not so keen on Winifred/Winnie and Winston for siblings, as the "Win" at the start of the names makes the similarities between the two far more obvious - Winnie and Winston sound very matchy, whereas Winnie and Wilf are perfect! random suggestions, but you may also Walter or Wilbur - Winnie and Walt or Winnie and Wilbie! 🥺💙
@Madelina ♡ yes I love Wilf & Winnie together, we only really use their full names when writing down formally etc. I like Walter but apparently it gets shortened to Wally a lot which I don’t like. But Wilbur is cute, thank you!
What about Alfred? It’s not as similar but has the same vibe
@Sam and their nickname would be Winnie and Alfie
@Sam I have someone in our family tree that wasn’t very nice called Alfred so avoiding that name 😬.
Winifred & Watson Winifred & Walter Winifred & Wolfric/Wolfram (Wolf) Winifred & Wallace Winifred & Wells (Weldon/Maxwell) Winifred & Woodrow Winifred & Wilbur Winifred & Wilford (Wilf) Winifred & Willis
Ah best not then
I really like both names, I think it’s like having an Olivia and Oliver, they are similar, it’s like the female and male version of the same name. Lovely names though!
What about Wesley? You could shorten to Wes.
Why do they need to be so close?
@Lara they don’t, they are just names I like lol
Also open to anymore suggestions for names that match Winifred please 🙏🏼
