Gripe water

Ladies, if your LO struggles with gas and you give them gripe water, is this an ongoing thing? Or do you stop once the gas gets better? I’ve given it to my LO for 3 days, he’s better now but don’t know whether to stop or keep going?

I used to give it my little one every other feed until she was at least 6 months as she really struggled then went to only when she needed it

@Sarah how did you give it to her. I find it so hard

I used a syringe to give it her but I have learned a new trick lately put the medicine in a bottle teat and they will suck on it like they would when having a bottle

My little one responded really well to it, it’s not a long term fix though - just addresses the symptoms when they flared up. If your Bub is experiencing bad gas, you should look into the cause of it. Most likely they are reacting to something you are eating. The most likely candidate is dairy, so you could try eliminating that first. If that doesn’t work - you could try eliminating the other common allergens (egg, soy, wheat, sesame, seafood, etc). There’s also other foods that can set bubs off (for my Bub it was leafy green vegetables, legumes, onions and garlic). Worth talking to your doctor for some advice. Also - burping is soo important if you have a colicky baby. I hope it clears up for your LO soon. Dealing with colic is so tough!!!
