Pain in hips when I sleep

I’ve started to get really sore hips from sleeping on my sides - it is often keeping me up at night and I’m then exhausted in the morning! I’ve tried different combinations of pillows to see if it helps and sometimes slightly relieves the pain but not entirely! It only seems to be at night and a bit when I wake up and I seem to be okay in the day. Has anyone had similar issues and has any recommendations to try? 😊

My physio recommended sleeping on a folded duvet for cushioning and less likely to move that a pillow.

Ooh amazing I’ll give this a try - thanks Cleo! 😊

I’ve also had really horrible shooting pains in my left hip since about 20 weeks. Ive heard that sleeping on your left side is supposed to be best but going to talk to the midwife at my next appointment for more advice! add

I've found doing pregnancy stretches from YouTube really helps, but some of it you can't help as our bones are moving around in there! I try to stretch a few times a week before bed. My last pregnancy I got a sort of Triangle pillow that I put between my legs and that helped too

Yep! Had it towards the end of my pregnancy and still do 2 years postpartum. I’ve been in physical therapy since November 2024 and it has helped a little but still get pains

Together health Magnesium supplements worked for me. It does interact with meds such as Sertraline and Clexane though.

Thanks ladies going to give all of this a go and do some more trial and error!! X
