Swab results - strep b and thrush😫🤰🏻

I’ve got it! I didn’t even know what it was apparently it’s just normal bacteria and it won’t harm us but we have to have antibiotics in labour so reduce the risk of the baby getting unwell. I found out at my consultant appointment that I had it that was around 19 weeks ish. And I have thrush as well for the first time this pregnancy and omg it is horrible I didn’t think I had it at first it was swollen but I didn’t have any other signs till a week later but I’ve used canested cream and it helps a lot. I didn’t have any of these in my first pregnancy tho x

@Katie I’m the same as you, I didn’t have any of these in my first pregnancy but this is the third time I’ve had thrush and then I’ve just found out ive got strep b. I’ve spoken to my midwife and she’s reassured me but I’m a worrier and I can’t help but worry and overthink stuff x

@Libby-mae yeah same here 😩I think it’ll be okay just make sure we get the antibiotics in labour and that the midwife’s don’t forget. I’m more worried about the step than thrush but thrush is really uncomfortable 😩 I haven’t worn underwear because it’s jus so irritating xx

@Katie I wouldn’t have known I had thrush again if it wasn’t for me doing that swab tbh with you but the other two times I knew, thrush is nothing to worry about at all and neither is the strep b as long as you get antibiotics straight away I’ll make sure to keep telling them haha x

That’s interesting coz I was told men couldn’t get strep b

@Jade oh really? Well my Partner had a swab and it come up with that’s what he had and he had to have antibiotics🫶🏻

Yep I was told after birthing my second child that I was group b strep and that we both needed to put on antibiotics immediately as a precaution. I’m group b strep again this time and they just said I’ll need antibiotics in labour that’s all. Nothing to worry about at all x
