Work and sickness

Hey ladies I don’t know what to do I’m 7 weeks pregnant tomorrow and my sickness is terrible I was sick roughly 4 times today one episode being about 45 minutes long non stop in work after that I left early. I only just started this job so ideally don’t want to have time off but I don’t see how I can work through this pls pls any advice or tips and tricks on how to get the nausea and vomiting to subside would be greatly appreciated

I found that being hungry always makes me nauseous or sick. I always had snacks with me all the time and sprite helped me as well

This is so hard! I was in a similar position, it lasted to about 19 weeks. Speak to your GP asap for anti sickness meds, they saved me!! Otherwise eating little and often (snacks all day, my colleagues did used to ask why I was eating my lunch at 9.30 but I was like oh I’m hungry) and keeping hydrated was all I could do. Sometimes I just had to sit and do deep breaths at my desk, it was so hard and felt never ending. Also you know your employer best, but once you tell them you’re pregnant they can’t hold pregnancy related sickness against you (or maybe support you to WFH if appropriate), though I’m aware sadly some employers aren’t very kind about it x

Please speak to your gp to get anti sickness meds! I have HG and the anti sickness helps me function normally, if you are getting it this bad daily you need the meds. I left it for 4 weeks and ended up in hospital on a drip x

I had a horrible start to pregnancy, i was a carer so a very hands on job, they limited what calls i could go too but that still was too much! I couldnt stay awake longer than a few hours, i was constantly having to go home snd change because i would take a sip od a drink n throw up on myself whilst driving! I was barely eating so my energy levels were barely nothing. I went off sick and was on sick pay till my maternity could start. My managers could tell i wasn't okay, and they we're very supportive xx
