Irish twins?

What is up with doctors not seeing you until 8 weeks of pregnancy? I just want to know if everything is okay 😭 Back story: I just gave birth in November. I got my period pretty quickly after birth because my daughter stopped eating in the night… so my last period was Feb 10th (first day) I was late 3 days so I took a few tests… 4 faint positive and 4 negative. I’m now 11 days late… nausea, sleeping like crazy, feeling a pulse in my tummy.. I called for an appointment and they said they won’t see me until I’m 8 weeks?! So now I’m just waiting and it’s driving me nuts not knowing for sure what’s going on 😭 like what if it’s ectopic and that’s why the lines are so faint and coming back partially negative? Is there another way to figure out if I am pregnant for sure? My first pregnancy I was involved in a bad car accident and we were able to confirm pregnancy in the ER around my 5th week of pregnancy so things are a bit different now. I just need reassurance / advice since I’m secretly going through this on my own

Go to a private ultrasound clinic and pay out of pocket for an ultrasound or pregnancy blood test. Obs usually wait until your 8 weeks since it’s when they can get a better gestational age and heart beat, they will only see you if you are known to have high risk pregnancies or this is what I was told by my ob.

^^^ agreed. I went to a 3d ultrasound clinic if I wanted to make sure things were alright between visits. Plus Obs are only really doing 1-2 ultrasounds (given you’re not at risk for anything). So I just paid to see baby via private party. Some of the places also offer expedited blood tests too.

There's not much they do before 8 weeks.. is there a reason why you are suspicious of ectopic?? If you're having pain and think that might be the case, go to the e.d.
