I feel you! I've struggled so much with this and sciatica for months now, I did see the physio, she basically told me all the reasons it happens and it'll go when the baby is born .. 😭 It's only down my left side too, my midwife said I'm fine to switch between sleeping on my left and right, if that helps 🥴
Ugh it's horrible!! I got a support belt from antenatal which is helping a little for walking, it's worth asking your midwife/consultant about getting fitted for one xx
PGP is awful I've had it with every pregnancy, some of the exercises do help, wearing a pelvic belt and knowing what triggers it. I have codiene for when it's really bad (GP can prescribe). To be honest the community midwife won't be able to do a lot if already referred to physio. My advice would be to see a private physio or osteopath asap. Even then it's never a quick fix. The pelvic partnership is a charity with some more info and info on treatment on, have a google! Can you take some time off work? Don't bounce on the ball either try pelvic tilts while you're on it
PGP is awful, sending you hugs. If you’re happy to consider, you could see if you can be prescribed codeine? I only take it when nothing else is working and I can barely move. If you get a lot of pain at the back, I find using a ball to release pressure also helps - I do it standing against the wall. If funds allow, I highly recommend a private physio. In my previous pregnancy, I saw a private physio every 2-3 weeks as I couldn’t get a local NHS appointment often. They mainly focussed on manual therapy but I felt like I had new hips after each session. Pelvic partnership have a list of recommended practitioners. If you get pain at the front, I’ve been told to squeeze my bum every time I stand as that helps relieve the pain at the front Hope you find something that works and the pain eases.
@Ashleigh this is what my midwife has referred me for. But 28th April is a very long way away to suffer 😭
@Sarah definitely tilting 😁
Gosh yeah that's sooo long to wait! I would call up and see if you can be measured up for one sooner for sure! Xx
It’s extremely painful. I have been given codeine and also crutches by physio which has helped somewhat particularly when trying to get downstairs. I totally feel your pain! You could try a support band although personally I didn’t find it helped that much but definitely lifted some pressure. Hope you get some relief soon x
I’m also suffering with this and sciatica. I didn’t have it with my first so was a complete shock to me. I’ve been referred to physio but they can’t see me until I’m 39+2, which just seems pointless then as I’m a high risk pregnancy for preterm labour anyway 😅 I’ve been given codeine and only taking it at night so I can sleep. My midwife suggested one of those belts which I’m going to look into later… I feel your pain! 🥺
PGP is the worst! i told 2 midwives at the hospital about having it, the first one completely ignored me and the second one said there’s nothing they can do 😕
