I would do prune or pear. Id start with 5 mls one to two times a day.

@Marisa thank you. do i need to add water to it or no ? x

You shouldn’t give anything other than breastmilk or formula to your a baby at this age. It’s normal for some babies to have 1 poop a week after 6 weeks, every baby is different. If it’s been longer than a week, see you GPz for advice. A Chiro might also help bubs to open bowels more frequently, you’re close to our Chrio who is amazing - Tone at Lucks Yard clinic x

@Tamzin no need to add water. And you can add it to a bottle of milk if you’d like or separately

@Savannah we give babies juice all the time in the nicu for constipation in small quantities. It’s perfectly safe.

I remember coming across a YouTube video online on a woman who had the same issue.8 days without a poo! She gave the prune juice undiluted and it worked a little too well lol. A lot of people in the comment section mentioned that it is better to be diluted. But also exclusively breastfed babies tend to go longer between bowel movements then formula fed ones.

@Marisa I also work in NICU too but in the UK and it’s not recommended - must be based on where you live re the advice ☺️
