@Stephanie I have to literally start walking up to her for her to respond but she listens to everything else like if I say stop or no or come here or give me she listens but that name she will pay me dust . Idk why my mind always goes to autism it’s scary
Sounds like how my MIL described my husband at this age, your tone when you say stuff besides her name could be subtly different enough to register through the hyper focus. APD is common with autistic kids but isn’t exclusive to autism. It’s also common in ADHD kids, which with girls rarely includes physical hyper activity and is entirely mental hyperactivity (source: I have ADHD). Try to remember that just because she might have a common comorbidity of those disorders doesn’t mean she’s autistic/ADHD/AuDHD.

My daughters like this. We think she’s inherited her dad’s auditory processing disorder. She’s not ignoring you, she doesn’t register that you called her because her brain is so focused on what’s in front of her.
