Hypertension/induction vs c-sect?

I'm 36 weeks today and have had borderline hypertension for a couple of weeks. Docs have offered me Labetalol but also been wary of putting me on it incase it makes my BP too low as my readings vary from late 140s to mid 120s! Bottom number is rarely above 90. So haven't opted for meds up to this point to avoid the side effects and effect on the baby/her needing to be monitored post birth. Buuuut I've also read about mamas with hypertension potentially being advised to be induced early. Basically looking for any responses from women who have been on Labetalol and how they've found it, any experiences of those diagnosed with gestational hypertension. I'd ideally like a waterbirth or to at least labour in a pool but also wondering if it's best to have an elective c section over an induction

I’m currently 37 weeks pregnant and was diagnosed with gestational hypertension at 36 weeks. I was boarderline for weeks but just tipped over the edge so I’m on Labetalol. The only time it makes me feel funny is the morning dose and that’s for about 20 mins. The rest of the time I feel normal. I have been recommended by three consultants to have an induction at 39 weeks but have not yet had any more details. I’m currently getting my blood pressure and urine checked twice a week. They are looking out for pre-eclampsia

@Catherine thanks Catherine. Yeah I had another follow up at PAU yesterday and they said I don't class as having it as my readings aren't consistently high 🤷‍♀️even came down to 122/84 after the first they took being 153/93. No proteins so looking good on that front 🤞

@Becky yeah it’s mad how it fluctuates especially that first reading. I also think it depends on who does it tbh. They should really give people 5 mins to settle and do a few readings x
