Hey, my second baby was breech and I really didn’t want a section. I opted for an ECV at 38weeks and it was successful! Healthy baby boy was born the following week. It’s not always successful but it’s definitely worth trying if it’s an option 😊 Feel free to message me if you want more info on it. Yes, it’s painful but it’s a couple of minutes of pain max and 100% worth it! Also… lots of walking, cold peas high on bump, lay upside down, moxibustion etc. look up spinning babies and there’s suggestions to try get baby flip naturally.
I also had a successful ECV at 37 weeks. With a spinal anesthesia it wasn’t painful at all. She was born after induction at 40+ weeks
Look up spinning babies, there’s quite a few different positions to try to get baby to turn on their own. You can absolutely wait it out babys can turn all the way up till and during labor. My oldest son was breech I found out at 32, and had an ECV at 35 weeks which was successful I had him vaginally at 37 weeks. He was 9#10oz with a 99% head. He was a BIG boy. For me personally it was like a 2/10 on the pain scale the most painful part was his head popping downwards. Something to keep in mind for ECVs is they can fail, they can be successful and baby flip back breech later on, or they can cause distress for baby and be a C-section that day. It’s really up to you what’s you’re comfortable with. I personally said if it didn’t work and he stayed breech I was going have him breech, as they can’t force you they’ll just transfer you to someone who has the training usually another hospital. I wish you all the luck my dear! 🖤
So I threw everything at my breech situation. Spinning babies moves, acupuncture with moxibustion, Chiropractor with certified Webster technique, Hypnobabies turn your breech baby sound track, and slept with a peanut ball in between my legs sleeping on my sides all night which I hate. She turned. But before 36 weeks though. You can try these things, I was willing to try an ecv too but those i think you have to do at 37 weeks which is very soon for you or maybe it's 38. Also totally sound to just consider being in peace and scheduling a timed c section.
I’m actually super grateful he was breech and I ended up with a c-section. He was breech with one leg up and one leg down. I declined an ECV. My midwife made a comment about maybe there is a reason for him being breech and all things considered I decided I didn’t want to risk him getting stuck. My c-section was planned but my waters went a week earlier. It was still a very relaxed experience. Recovery was really easy. Minimal pain (I kept on top of rotating painkillers). I had no issues with incision etc. Breastfeeding wasn’t affected (they say milk can take longer to come in if you have a c-section). I suspect the recovery would have been more challenging if I’d laboured for hours and then ended up with a c-section delivery.
I had an ecv at 37 weeks that failed and was honestly a really painful experience. It was worth it to me to potentially have avoided the section but unfortunately it just didn’t work and I had my section at 39+5. It was honestly for the best though as he ended up being a big baby with his head being on the 98th percentile and me on the smaller side, so I’d been told he most likely would have gotten stuck and ended in an emergency section anyway either way. Recovery was rough but it was absolutely the safest way to bring him here and would 100% take a planned over a potential emergency section. Good luck xx
